Friday 2nd November

Welcome back to 6W's blog, we hope you all had a great half term.

As it has been Halloween this week, we have created opportunities for 'spooky' themed English which has included: reading a new book (Clockwork by Philip Pullman), reading and analysing poems (The Visitor and The Listeners) and basing some descriptive writing on a haunted house. I think the children have enjoyed this theme!

We have begun a new topic in science on electricity - the children made a simple circuit in class and this will lead to creating their own electrical game.

We have come to the end of our Battle of Britain topic and we finished with drawing caricatures of some significant people from WW2 - we have some very talented artists in class.

We hope you have a great weekend and stay safe over the weekend if you are attending any bonfires or firework displays. See you on Monday!

With love from Mrs Parry and Mrs Melling xx
