Friday 3rd July
Welcome back to the Year 5W blog. It has been another busy week here at Westfield.
Maths – This week we have been looking at multiplication. We have begun the week by multiplying by a one digit number using a column. As the week moved on, we have been learning how to multiply by a two digit number using a column. It was a bit tricky at first but we understand how to complete these kinds of problems now.
English – We have all completed a storyboard re-telling the story of Pocahontas in words and pictures. We have been writing IMAGINE THREE sentences ready to put up on display in class. We looked at images of the Lake District and used them as a stimulus for our writing. Also, we have been looking at whether sentences are fact or opinion.
On Thursday, it was our Sports Day. A big thank you to all the parents who were able to make it along and show their support. The children were amazing and had a fabulous morning. Thankfully, the sun was out but not as hot as it had been the day before. Here are some pictures from the day...
This week in Assembly our CERTIFICATE WINNER was Connor for his infectious smile, which can’t help but spread across the classroom!
Finally, enjoy the weekend and we will see you back in school on Monday.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
