Friday 3rd November

In Science we conducted an investigation into hygiene. We wanted to investigate the importance of hand washing. So we took three pieces of bread. The children touched one piece with their 'dirty unwashed' hands, then they washed their hands and touched a second piece of bread and finally we took a 3rd piece of bread which no one touched. We left the pieces of bread untouched for around 2 weeks and looked again at the differences in the bread. We noticed that the bread that people had touched with unwashed hands had affected the bread as there was mould on it compared to the others.

We concluded from this investigation that it is important for us all to wash our hands before touching food.
