Friday 3rd November

Hello and welcome back to 4W's blog of the week! What a really busy week back after the half term. Hope you had a great week off and enjoyed Halloween too.

This week, we have started our new Talk for Writing about Eleanor Rigby. She is a fictional character from a famous Beatles song. Have a listen to the song below and figure out what kind of person she is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuS5NuXRb5Y

In maths, we have moved onto addition and subtraction for this half term. We have a looked at adding 4 digit numbers where we need to regroup. This means that the number is bigger than 10, so we have to carry into the next place value column.

Have a go at the game below and see how you get on. https://mrnussbaum.com/drag-n-drop-math-online

We have started our new history topic Ancient Egyptians. The children absolutely loved using the virtual reality headsets to visit Ancient Egypt, they found out lots about this civilisation from what they could see virtually.

Next weeks spellings are homophones. This is where words sound the same but are spelt differently and have different meanings.

1) Break

2) Brake

3) fair

4) fare

5) great

6) grate

7) groan

8) grown

9) here

10) hear

Have a wonderful weekend!
