Friday 4th November 2016

Wow, what an amazing week we've had here in Year 4.

In English we have been looking again at some of the Carl Warner pictures that we used for our Autumn Assembly.  (Mr Price is still working on the video -it'd better be worth the wait.)  This time we have been describing the scenes.  Mr P has given us some really great ways to improve our sentences.  For example, a prepositional opener -which would still be a `fronted adverbial', or an `ing and ing' opener.  Take a look at some of our examples that have made it on to our English working wall.

In Maths we have moved on to Multiplication and Division.  We have started to look at arrays and how these can help us work out multiplication problems. Arrays are a way of representing in rows and columns.  Take a look -
When you think about it, arrays are really useful -and, they're everywhere.  You just didn't notice them until now.

In topic, we made Tutankhamun masks.  We covered balloons with brown gummed strip, then build the features.  Finally, we decorated them.  Take a look.

We have had an amazing Science lesson that rounds off our States of Matter topic.  States of Matter is all about the differences between Solids, Liquids and Gases.  Our question for you is this -` When is a solid not a solid?'  Do you know?  Well, the answer is -when its Oobleck.  We'll chat again next week -but in the meantime, check out our Oobleck video.  You'll see what we mean.  Bye for now.
