What a super busy week in Pre-school. After a lovely half term break, we were back with a bang and celebrating Halloween and Bonfire night. The children loved to tell each other and the grown ups what they were dressing up as for Halloween. We wore witches hats to make potions, used our cutting skills to make pumpkin pictures, we investigated the inside of a real pumpkin - talking about the textures and what was inside and made delicious chocolate apples to take home! We then moved onto bonfire night by using straws to blow paint to form patterns like fireworks, we watched firework displays on the big board and talked lots and lots about safety at bonfire night, we then made yummy marshmallow sparklers to take home to eat.
We finished our super busy week by introducing Remembrance day and making poppies ready to take to the Cenotaph next week.
Trick or treat! We used super scissor skills and used our fine motor skills to make a spooky pumpkin face.
Using different liquids and textures we put on a magic spell to make a magic potion! Abracadabra!! We squirted, stirred, mixed and poured to make the potion magic!
Firework paintings - we used different techniques to make firework paintings, such as, blowing the paint through a straw, flicking the bristles of a brush and splatter painting.
Colour walk - We have been on a Colour walk around the local environment. We all had a clipboard and a colour checklist, when we spotted a colour we marked it on the sheet with a pencil. The children were fantastic at spotting the colours all around us!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
