Week 1

Welcome back!

This week we have jumped onto the pink balloon (also known as March!)

We have so many birthdays this month, so please keep a look out for our March babies on the blogs over the next few weeks.

This week we have been learning about Jack and the beanstalk.  This is an introductory story into our topic about growing.

We have read the story of Jack and the beanstalk and have been drawing the magical castle in our Drawing the Write Way session.

Independent writing challenge

The FloorBooks group took their learning outside onto the ALPS to find out how water travels through pipes.

The children had a fabulous time in the sun; learning through play in the mud kitchen.

They practised jumping, balancing, mixing, carrying and stirring.  Did you know that all of this play will help them become better writers when they are bigger?  Gross motor development and developing the muscles in their arms and hands is crucial for good pencil/ pen control!  Great writing practise Pre-school!

Although we no longer have Paul leading our PE sessions he left us with lots of ideas to continue developing our fundamental physical skills.

Here we are practising in PE this week

We also had our final session of PIP this week.  It has been a pleasure to work with the parents and the children.

Finally, on Friday we went on the ALPS to re enact the story of Jack and the beanstalk.  The children enjoyed joining in with the repeated parts of the story and watching 'Jack' climb up and down the beanstalk.  We have some good actors in pre school this year!
…..and then of course we had a little play in the woods!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend.

See you next week
