⭐️Our stars of the week⭐️

Some of our activities this week👍

This week we have started reading a new story called Pete the cat I love my white shoes. This focuses on all the different colours which the children are really enjoying talking about. They are getting really confident at identifying them😁 I will post the link below if you would like to listen/watch this at home with your children👍

Tuesday 16th January ❄️

Today in nursery the children was so excited to see the snow. We explored this in our big tray and even went outside and built a snowman. The children thoroughly enjoyed having snowball fights, making snow angels and rolling around in the snow❄️

Wednesday 17th January😁

This week we have been focusing on our fine motor skills using knifes and forks with adult supervision. We enjoyed cutting vegetables including carrots, lettuce, celery and broccoli. The children enjoyed using their senses to explore these vegetables.

Thursday 18th January😁

We enjoyed our toothbrushing activity today, we are trying to encourage the children to do good brushing. You can also use the Blippi toothbrushing song on Youtube at homesmiley

We are encouraging the children to use single words, 2 words & 3 word phrases. We did an activity which involved the children opening a coloured box with an object inside, we asked "what have you got" the children showed confidence in using single words to respond. We expand their language by then adding a colour or an adjective to the object, for example "grey elephant" or spiky hedgehog". You can try activities like this at home by asking your child to find familiar objects within your house, looking out of the windows, or going for walks.

Friday 19th January😊

Today we have enjoyed using knives and forks with our playdough to encourage imaginative play. The children pretend they are making pizza's & pancakes. Using knives and forks help develop their Physical skills. If you could try and introduce this at home during meal times this would be a great way to develop their sense of independence.
