Week Beginning 17th October

Parent reminder - nursery will break up on Friday 20th October for half term and will return on Tuesday 31st October, we hope you all have a nice week off and we will look forward to seeing you soon😁

Some of our activities this week😁

This week at nursery we have been pumpkin picking in the ALPS which is an outdoor learning space located on school premises. We hid pumpkins in the woods and let the children find them which they thoroughly enjoyed. They showed can do attitudes throughout by picking up pumpkins and helping their friends carry them to the wheel barrows. After this we did a Halloween hunt which involved the children finding small pictures of pumpkins, ghosts and witches. They used their buckets to collect the pictures😁👍 take a look..

Tuesday 17th October😁

Today we enjoyed putting a large roll of paper on the floor and mark making with markers and pens. We encouraged the children to draw small and big lines and to draw circles by moving round and round with our pens. With this we drew spiders and encouraged the children to count 8 legs and to add eyes.
After this we enjoyed a halloween sensory tray which consisted of spiders web, spiders both big and small and bats. We used the tweezers to try and pick up the spiders 🕷️

Wednesday 18th October😊

Trip to the park and exploring the field and hill😀 we are trying to promote physical skills at nursery so took the children across to the local park to encourage climbing, running and walking up and down the stairs. We then went to the field and walked up the big rocks and let the children run down the hill which they loved💛

Park play😀👍

Friday 20th October😀

Today we have enjoyed a day filled with games, we encouraged the children to take turns and wait for their own turn. We prompted single words and two word phrases to encourage the children to copy😊 the children really engaged well and enjoyed finding the matching pairs and waiting for the dinosaur to pop up😊 take a look..
