IMPORTANT NOTICES-
Some of our activities this week
We love to dance
Outdoor play😁
We are really focusing on the children's Physical skills in provision, we provide lots of opportunities for this for example - lots of outdoor play, kicking/throwing/catching balls, visiting wacky warehouse, environmental walks, going to preschool's climbing frame & visiting the local park. The children show good "can do" attitudes throughout. They are growing in confidence and starting to climb independently and use the stairs correctly.
The children have started to challenge themselves by creating a bridge using the building blocks outside to balance on
Wacky warehouse😁
Tuesday 19th March
We are encouraging fine motor skills by using knifes & forks during play (supervised) - the children have really shown good skills using them, they are learning to use them properly by cutting playdough, vegetables & cooked spaghetti.
They enjoyed mixing the colours into the Rice bags with Gemma, they shook the bags and listened to the noises they was making. After this we emptied the coloured rice into the tray and made a Easter sensory tray, including buckets, laminated eater eggs & magnifying glasses. They used the magnifying glasses to see all the different patterns on the Easter eggs.
Easter activities🐇
This week we created easter pictures/cards by using the masher to make marks using different colours of paint. We have enjoyed lots of easter sensory trays including lots of fun resources to play with and explore.
Wednesday 20th March
Today we used the water bottles to squirt water into the cement tray as we was pretending to put out the fire and water the flowers. After this was finished we included animals so the children could wash them. The children really enjoyed this activity and used the water bottles well
We used our nets in the water play to catch familiar objects which promotes single words and understanding of simple questions, "what's this" "what have you found" "can you find.."
Baking butterfly cakes with Amy for spring🦋
The children showed good counting skills when Amy was pouring in the scoops of flour, sugar and butter. They enjoyed listening to the eggs being cracked and even tried cracking them independently
Thursday 21st March
Today we have enjoyed playing with the paw patrol tower & figures, the children use sounds in play and are really stretching their imaginations to further imaginative play independently and in small groups.
We have participated in lots of building activities using the wooden sensory blocks & stacking cups/stacking cakes and large foam bricks.
Amy made us some frozen dinosaur eggs to play with and explore using the wooden hammers/tools. We hid lots of small dinosaurs in the eggs and around the straw to encourage the children to find.
Friday 22nd March
Today we have enjoyed playing with playdough with a variety of different objects to explore, this included gems, carrots and coloured match sticks. The children enjoyed putting the matchsticks in the playdough and pretending to make cakes using the matchsticks as candles.
We thoroughly enjoyed making ice creams using wafer cones & whipped cream, we used spoons to scoop
