Week Beginning 27th February

REMINDER- It is world book day on Thursday 7th March if your child attends nursery this day you are more than welcome to send them dressed as their favourite character if they would like to participate. If your child does not attend nursery on Thursdays and they would like to dress up on any of the other days you are again more than welcome to do sosmileyyes

We have welcomed 2 new friends into the Sunflower Room this week, they have done really well on their visits and have started to create bonds with both staff and childrensmiley

We have also had new member of staff who has joined the Sunflower Room this week her name is Hannah, some of you may of met her already but if not please say hello when you see her and introduce yourself then she can familiarise herself with parents/carerssmiley

Tuesday 27th Februarysmiley

 

Today we had a nice walk down to the toy shop to explore all the different toys, teddies, books etc. The children really enjoy this experience and showed really good listening by putting all the toys back on the shelves when askedyes

Wednesday 28th Februarysmiley

Today we enjoyed making ice creams using whipped cream, wafer cones and spoons, as you can see the children really enjoyed tasting thischeeky The showed good control using spoons to scoop up the cream and put it in their cones.

 

In the afternoon we enjoyed hiding buttons inside playdough for the children to find, they identified the different colours and shapes of the buttons once they had found themsmiley this develops fine motor skills and challenges the children to use small movements using their finger and thumb.

Thursday 29th Februarysmiley

Today we enjoyed making marks in the sand, we used the photos of different marks to encourage the children to copy the marks. They showed good confidence in trying this and was keen to show off their markslaugh

 

In the afternoon we had water play with sea animals and seaweed. We included frozen fish ice cubes which the children loved! They used their fishing nets to scoop up and catch the different sea animals.

Imaginative play😊 

 

The children are really developing their imaginative play and starting to form strong friendships with each other. We used the inflatable animal head bands to pretend we was at the zoo. The children each picked their own animal. As you can see from the photos the children thoroughly enjoyed thisblush

Friday 1st Marchsmiley

 

Today we made Banana cupcakes with Jayne, which the children had for their afternoon snacks. They enjoyed mixing and counting out the ingredients with Jaynesmileyyes

 

The children enjoy roleplaying to be zombies, they like to pretend to eat the staff, chase us and turn us all into big zombieslaugh
