Week Ending 12th May

Hello and welcome back to our class blog! This week we have been reading our text of the week 'The Smartest Giant in Town'. What a lovely story. We have spent lots of time understanding and talking about all of the different characters George the Giant meets on his travels. The children have fantastic memories and can remember all of the key events in the story!

In Maths this week we have been focusing on measure. In particular, capacity, length and height. One of our favourite activities was showing capacity using cups. We used the language full, empty, half full, nearly full and nearly empty.

We drew self portraits to update our lovely display in class. We took time looking at our features and wrote our names. Our grown ups were so impressed at how far we have come on since September!

We have been making the most of the lovely weather and playing outside. One of our favourite activities is to use the chalks on the playground to draw and write.

We have also enjoyed playing in extremely soapy water!

In PE we have been focusing on Dance. We have learnt how to negotiate the space around us and stretch our bodies.

Next week, our text of the week is 'A Squash and a Squeeze'. We love this story and cant wait to learn more about it!

Have a great weekend,

Miss Sherriff and the RF teamlaugh
