week ending 15th March 2024

Good Afternoon and welcome back to this weeks blog. This week we have been using the text A Superhero Like You. A lovely story about the different types of Superheroes we meet in everyday lives who help us, guide us and help make the place a better place to be. Let's have a little peek at this weeks provision activities. Each week we work hard to set the classroom up with lots of lovely learning experiences, we want the children to really explore the text in-depth in lots of different areas of the classroom smiley

We have also been exploring the super hero powers we all have within. We dressed up as superheroes and wrote about our powers. We then used them to add to a display. We are amazingly proud of our children and the wonderful characteristics we have, such as kindness, bravery and perseverance. Keep up the good work everyone smiley

As we do every Friday we have updated our Sticky Learning book and our learning journey in the classroom. We revisit our learning weekly and talk about how we have changed over time and how our learning has developed. Can you believe we are over half way through our time together in Reception already surprise

Without a doubt our highlight of the week has been our trip to Kenyon Hall Farm. We were impeccably behaved and lots of the public commented on our wonderful manners. We are very proud of everyone who came with us on the trip. We learned all about different fruits and vegetables, where they are grown and how they get from the field to our table. We also learned about how plants survive and what they need. We even planted a sunflower which we will be bringing home soon smiley

We have used our experiences from the trip to write about the different activities we did whilst there. Take a look at this wonderful independent writing. What a treat it is to read!

We have also been busy exploring the objects we brought back and using language to describe how they look, feel and smell. These are some of the things we found yesterday and have spent time investigating using our senses.

Next week we will be exploring Spring enhancement. We will spend the week learning  about seasons, changing seasons and what happens to the weather in these seasons.

Have a great weekend
