Welcome back to this weeks class blog. This week we have been busy learning using the text The Runaway Pancake. What a fun week we have had. Let's look at some of our learning
We started the week off by listening to the story. We talked about the events of the story and what happened first, next and finally - lots of lovely opportunities to learn and apply new language. We then explored how to flip a pancake. Here we are demonstrating our skills
We watched a video clip on how to make a pancake. We talked about the step by step instructions and wrote a list detailing all of the ingredients we needed. Take a look at the lists we created
We have also been exploring writing in different contexts. Here we are practising the skills we have been learning in our Read Write Inc. Take a look at this fabulous writing
We have been building upon our mathematical language of first, them next and finally. To help us put this into practice we have been making a jam sandwich. We talked through the steps one at a time and then ordered them.
We have been looking more in-depth at the story of the Runaway Pancake. We have innovated the story and changed the characters. Wow I am super impressed with all of the wonderful writing that has been produced. I'm super proud of the children
We have also updated our Sticky Learning book to record all of the experiences we have had this half term whilst learning about Traditional Tales. I think you will agree that the learning is amazing!
That brings to an end a wonderful term of learning. After half term we will change the focus of our learning to Growth - growth of plants, animals and more importantly us! Our very first text of the week will be Oliver's Vegetables. Listen to the story via the link below
