week ending 18th November 2022

Hello and thank you for coming back to our class blog to learn about this weeks adventures in Reception W. Let's take a little look ...

We started the week off with some lovely invitations to play all linked to our text of the week what the ladybird heard at the seaside. We have been exploring the types of animals that may live at the seaside and learning more about they differ from other animals we have already been learning about smiley

We started the week off creating a story map showing all of our ideas and knowledge of the book. We talk about the beginning, middle and end of stories throughout this activity and learn about the order and sequence of events in the story. This activity helps us to use and understand story language as well as developing our memory and recall skills.

As every week we have been exploring and developing our pencil grip. We undertake lots of fun and exciting Funky Finger activities to help us develop our fine motor skills. Here are a just a small selection of this weeks activities smiley

We have also been exploring lots of writing and mark making opportunities in the classroom. Here are some of the fun things we have completed this week yes

We have also been working hard on our phonics this week. We have been looking at the first sounds in animals and sorting them into the right sections. A great activity to try at home.

And finally, we have had such good fun in our new role play shop. We have been learning all about money, opening times, price of things and how to work alongside our friends and develop and engage others in our play.

That's all for this week. We hope that you have an amazing weekend
