Hello and welcome back to this weeks class blog. Despite it only being the second week back at school we have picked up where we have left ff and are full of excitement and enthusiasm for this weeks learning. Let's take a little look
This week we created a story map with a twist. We read the story, talked about the story and created our own images and text to make a display. We now have our wonderful work proudly displayed on the wall. Fabulous isn't it?
We have also been developing our speech and language by using different voices and pretending to take on the role of the characters from the story. Here we are acting it out Fee Fi Fo Fum Look Out Here I Come!
We have also been looking at how writing helps us in our everyday life. W have been looking at how labels are used in lots of different ways for example at the supermarket, in class to help us know what and where things are. We used pastels to crate drawings about the characters in the story and then added a label to them. Can you find any labels in your own home? Let me know
In Maths this week we have been ordering numbers and matching our number block to the correct numeral. This has given us an opportunity to develop our language, learn about numbers in greater depth and share our understanding with the adults in the room.
As always we took advantage of what is going on around us to help us with our learning. Snow! We brought the outside in! We explored how it felt, looked at why and how it melts and lots more. Here we are enjoying our hands on but chilly learning
Next week we will be learning using the text The Enormous Turnip. Have a little watch of the story together before Monday. Here is the link...
Have a wonderful weekend
