Week ending 1st December 2023
Hello and welcome back to our blog. This week we have been using the text Rumble In The Jungle to help us with our learning. With this theme in mind take a look at all of our lovely themed jungle provision in class 
We started the week off by listening carefully to the story. We then went onto the Internet to look up information about the animals from the story. We found out some really amazing facts such as .....
Giraffes have 36 teeth
The heaviest hippo weighed in at 9,900 lbs
Gorilla's live in a nest

We then studied individual animals and looked at their size, shape and colour. We looked at images online and in books and them to help us develop our observational skills we used paint and pastels to create pictures about the animals from the story. Here is some of our amazing art work 
To help us develop our ability to hear initial sounds in words we played a really fun game. We had to speedily select sounds that we could hear when we said the names of the animals. Here we are matching animals to their sounds
In Maths this week we have been thinking about the end number when we are counting. We have accessed lots of different activities to help us remember that we need to stop at a certain number. We have also been exploring showing numbers to 5 using our fingers and objects. Here we are in class
We have enjoyed being outside despite the cold weather and we have taken the opportunity to use some of the resources we have around to make different sounds. Here we are outside exploring sounds we can make
Next week we will be learning all about animals that live in the artic. Did you know that penguins don't actually live in the Artic?
