Week ending 20th October

Hello and welcome back to our class blog. What a fun week we have had exploring the Autumn season for our last week of the half term.

One of our favorite activities this week has been using our phonic knowledge to listen for initial sounds and match them to objects we have in our classroom.

We have also been using our sounds to create words!

Miss Sherriff brought us some interesting pumpkins to explore. We looked closely at the lines and shapes on the outside and completed some observational drawings.

We have learnt lots about Autumn this week and finished our week by completing some lovely writing about what we now know about this season.

On Friday it was...

                                            FRED THE FROG DAY!!!

Fred is our friend from RWI Phonics who we talk about daily. Fred only speaks in pure sounds so we need to try to blend his sounds together to listen to the words he is saying. We also practise talking like Fred. We have had a great day to finish our first half term of Reception.

Have a fun and restful half term. We will see you week commencing 30th October.
