week ending 24th March 2023

Hello and welcome to our class blog.  This week we have bene using the text A Superhero like you. This is a really lovely text for promoting children's awareness of the different jobs and professions people may have an the importance of them all. Let's look at this weeks amazing work in Reception W smiley

We started the week off by thinking about the superhero powers we had within. We learned that all different types of superhero powers like love, kindness, respect, helpfulness were amazing and how much other people need these in life. We started to think about own super powers. Here are just some of them. Enjoy smiley

We have been busy learning all about the numbers 9 and 10 and how we can create and compose these numbers using things around us. We continue to explore how to represent numbers in different ways for example tally charts, using coins and dots. Here are some of the lovely examples we have created this week

We took our learning about numbers outside this week. We explored recording on a large scale using chalks. This is a great idea to do at home in the garden especially when the weather warms up a little. We have created tally charts, number sentences, number bonds and much more. Amazing isn't it? We are so very proud to see the children using their knowledge and applying it in different ways yes

We have also been developing and practising our Read Write Inc skills in and out of the classroom. We provide the children with lots of different experiences to help them practise, reinforce and develop their reading and writing. Here we are making words using magnetic letters smiley

Thank you to all of those parents who came to parents evening. It was lovely to share the success with you and for those who are coming next week, I look forward to talking with you.

Next week is a very busy week in class. We will be using a non-fiction text for our last week and will be learning all about Spring and the changes that occur. We have our rearranged farm visit on Monday - we are so very excited about that. And of course, not forgetting, our wonderful Easter Bonnet parade.

A busy week ahead filled with lovely experiences

Have a great weekend
