week ending 24th November

Welcome back to our class blog.

We've had a really good week using our text of the week 'On the Farm' . We've found out about farm animals and some of the vegetables the farmer grows.

We started the week finding out about some of the foods we get from farm animals. We get milk, cheese, ice cream and more from a cow, we get wool from a sheep and eggs from a hen. We also get meats and chicken from them.

We have written about them and done some artwork about the animals.

In Maths we have been doing the composition of the numbers 3, 4 and 5. We have looked at the numbers that go together to make 3, 4 and 5.

For example, 2+1=3, 1+2=3 and 1+1+1=3.

We've had lots of fun in continuous provision, we've had a toy farm, animals and tractors to play with. We've been writing, reading and drawing things about the farm. We had a lot of fun making funny animals with the play dough.

We've had fun outside too, we've been playing with the new water wall.

Next week we are continuing our theme of animals and where they live.

Our text of the week next week is 'Rumble in the Jungle'  by Giles Andreae.
