Hello and welcome back to this weeks class blog. We have been super busy this week learning all about the text Enormous Turnip. Here are some of the lovely activities we have explored in our provision this week
In Maths this week we have bene thinking about the number 5. We have been using the song 5 little speckled frogs to help us understand the composition of 5 being 4 add 1 = 5. Here we are showcasing our learning
We developed this further the day after by looking at how 3 add 2 equals 5. Here are some of the recordings we made
We have also been exploring fruit and vegetables and how and where they grow. We have been busy looking and scanning magazines to find and categorise vegetables and add them to our dinner plate. Yum!
We have also explored ordering numbers on turnips. We talked about what numbers come before or after, ordered them and counted forward and backwards. Phew what a lot of learning
We have also been thinking about the things that make us proud. We have updated our Things that make us proud display. Take a look at our wonderful work
We have also done some wonderful writing this week. Our independent work is coming along a treat. The children really are using the skills taught in Read Write Inc to help them with their learning and it's having a great impact. Please remember to access the links that are sent home via Weduc
We had a wonderful time at our Reading Stay and Play and it was so nice to see you. Remember there is still a Friday session if you would like to come. Take a look at some of the activities we accessed. Thank you so much for your support!
Next weeks text of the week is The Three Little Pigs. We have some lovely creative ideas planned to help the children retell the story so watch this space. Please see the link below for the story if you would like to watch before Monday.
