week ending 3rd November 2023
Hello and welcome back to this weeks class blog. What a busy week we have had and we even managed a trip to the Alps. Let's take a little look .....
As we do every week we set our classroom up carefully to reflect lots of lovely learning experiences linked to the text of the week. This weeks text was Jacob O'Reilly wants a pet. Here are some of the activities we have accessed in class 
We have also been accessing some of the new areas in our classroom. We have transformed our reading area, created a fun and funky fred table and brought our playdough inside and made a home corner. Here we are accessing the Fred area - learning all abut letters, blending letters to read words and practising all of our skills we have been learning in RWI. Keep up the good work everyone
In Literacy we have been thinking about the animals from the story. We have been using books and the Internet to complete some research. We have then been recalling all of these facts, writing them down and sharing them with our friends. Take a little look 
In Maths we have been learning all about the number 5. We are developing our quick recall skills and recognition of what 5 looks like and the different ways we can make 5. Here we are following instructions to create the following ....

5 different objects
Try this at home by drawing around your hand
We have also been out onto the ALPS this week. We took some playdough, craft materials and some minibeasts. A strange mix! Look at the amazing things we did with them though! We created tree pictures and designed dens for our minibeasts to live in to stay warm and safe
We have also been drawing animals from the story and thinking about the initial sounds we hear when we say certain animal names. Definitely an action packed week of learning!
And finally we had some lovely achievements in class this week. Take a look at all of these medals for dancing! We are so proud of you
