week ending 3rd November 2023

Hello and welcome back to our class blog. Hopefully you all had a wonderful half term break.

All the children have come back with big smiles and we have a great week.

This weeks learning has been focused on the story 'Jacob O'Reilly wants a pet'.

The children had the opportunity to finger paint a snail which is a character from the story.

We explored pumpkins in the classroom looking at shape and colour. We looked how they can roll. We also cut them in half and had a look at the seeds inside.

We have been talking about our own pets and thinking about what pets we would like to have. We have found out about many different kinds of animals and have been writing about them, colouring and cutting them out.

We have been doing lots of work with the number 5 this week, concentrating on  counting and subitising. We have used counters, our hands and a dice. We have also looked at circles and triangles and have looked at artwork by Kandinsky. We have also used the interactive whiteboard to practice our number skills.

We have done some amazing learning in provision this week.

Next weeks text of the week will be Commotion In The Ocean
