Week Ending 6th January

Welcome back to our blog and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Although it has only been a short week we have loved being all back together again. All of our adults could tell how much we had missed each other over Christmas as we had so much to catch up on!

We started the week by refreshing our portrait display. We looked in the mirror to observe our features and had a go at drawing ourselves. We first did this back in September when we first started school, its amazing to see the progress we have made.

Our text of the week this week has been the Gingerbread Man. We loved acting out the story as all of the different characters. We have done lots of writing based on the story accessed activities related to it in our continuous provision.

In Maths this week we have been focusing on the importance of the number zero. We played a game of zero or not zero where we had to sort the pictures into categories. We have also been using a ten frame to look at 1 more/1 less. Miss Sherriff was SO impressed with our worksmiley

This week we started our stars of the week. Each week 2 children get chosen to go to Mrs Houghton's office for juice and a story! Well done to our first two starsyes

Next week our story will be Jack and the Beanstalk.

Have a great weekend
