week ending 8th March 2024

Hello and a warm welcome back to this weeks class blog. This week using the text The Growing Story we have discovered that even though we may not realise it we are growing and changing everyday. This is a round up of this weeks learning smiley

We started the week off by thinking about what type of job we would like when we are older. We looked at lots of different professions ..... doctors, verts, dentist, teachers etc. We had such a lovely discussions about the children's ideas about jobs and what  a talented bunch we have in class. Remember anything is possible with determination and hard work. Here are some of the examples yes

This week has been a wonderful week of exploration. Look at the amazing things we have explored. Wow!

Our Maths activities this week have been linked to Number Blocks and exploring the concept of 1 more and 1 less. We have ordered numbers, created number stacks, made towers of 1 more and 1 less and a whole host of other lovely learning activities. Here we are exploring our learning smiley

We have also been exploring an d recording in Maths this week. We used our carrot number sentences, number line and recorded the answer. Great problem solving everyone yes

We have also explored 6 or not 6. A great activity to help the children develop their understanding of what 6 looks like and how many different ways we can make 6. Here we are talking, sharing our ideas and learning with our friends smiley

A big thank you to everyone who sent in a photograph of their child when they were a baby. We have absolutely loved looking through them, talking about how they have changed over time. Amazing!

We have also been thinking about the things we did when we were younger and the things we needed then that we no longer need now. Take a look at our writing isn't it amazing? yes

In other areas of the curriculum we have been exploring colour mixing. We have been looking at what happens when colours are mixed together and what new colours and shaded can be made. Great fun!

We had a lovely set up of different World Book Day activities to explore on Thursday. Have a look at some of the activities we took part in. Also, don't we all look fabulous in our own clothes and costumes. Great work everyone. What a wonderful day we had!

Here we are celebrating World Book Day. We created front covers of our favourite stories, we made bookmarks, we decorated Elmer to make him colourful and drew pictures of ourselves in our costumes. Fabulous effort everyone yes

Next week we will be learning using the text A Superhero Like You. A lovely tale of everyday superheroes in our lives like teachers, doctors and parents! As always you can listen to the story in advance of Monday by clicking on the link below
