Week endng Friday 21st January

Hello and welcome back to our class blog.

This week we are reading the text Jack and the Beanstalk. It has been a brilliant text to explore and we have completed so many different activities.

Every week after we have read our story together we draw a story map. This is a great way for us to re-tell the story ourselves. Our story maps have been brilliant and we use our RWI knowledge to sound out labels for our drawings.

We have been busy creating our own beanstalks on the creative table, writing lists of characters and using our small world area to re-tell the story with our friends.

During our text of the week we have been practising the skill of hot seating. We pretend to be a character from our story and we have to ask questions and find out more about the character. It has been a fantastic activity to help support our imagination which is fantastic for our story telling.

In maths this week we have been learning about the composition of number. We have been using our numicon to help explore number and support us to write number sentences. We have been brilliant!
