Were going on a bear hunt, were going to catch a big one!

The children have been listening to the story, 'Going on a bear hunt'. Using their sensory skills, the children took off their socks and shoes, re-enacting the story by walking through different textured trays. They splish, sploshed in the water. Tickled the snow between their toes and crunched the leaves beneath their feet. The children were encouraged to repeat phrases from the story before hiding in 'the cave!'.

At the sensory station, the children used their hands to explore the 'thick, oozy mud.' we mixed cornflour with water and colouring and the children mixed it together. The children enjoyed watching the 'mud' drip between the fingers and hands.
