This week we have been enjoying the story ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’. We have enjoyed lots of activities around this story and we will be continuing to focus on this story over the coming weeks.

Next week (Tuesday and Thursday morning) we are going On a bear hunt in the ALPS ( Adventure, Learning, Provision, Space) which is located in the wooded area next to school.

Below is a link for a video of the author Michael Rosen reading ‘we’re going on a bear hunt’ which you could enjoy with your child at home if you do not have a copy of the book.

We built a cave and pretended to be bears in the cave 🐻

We made a bear hunt sensory tray, the children enjoyed exploring the different media and we sang along to the story as we explored, long wavy grass, a deep cold river, thick oozy mud, A big dark forest, a swirling whirling snowstorm and a narrow gloomy cave. 🐻

We created our own bear masks 🐻

Fun in the snow ❄️ ⛄️

Washing the babies 👶, we asked the children ‘can you wash babies belly?’ , ‘can you wash babies toes?’ 🧼 🧽

We made a colour sorting display on the wall with velcro, the children did really well at matching the colours. 🔴🟢🔵🟡

Continuous provision
