10th January

Happy New Year!

Welcome back to all of our children after the Christmas break. We hope you all had a lovely, exciting Christmas and are ready for more adventures in Year 1!

In English this week we have been reading 'The Enormous Turnip' We have been sequencing and describing the characters from the story.

In Maths we have been working on time. We have been learning the order of the days of the week and thinking about what we do on each day. We also learnt that Saturday and Sunday are days in the weekend - we know this because we don't come to school on those days!

In Science we have been learning about the parts of the human body. We drew around some of the children in our class and labelled the different parts of their body such as arms, legs, hips and elbows.

Our new Topic this half term is Town and Country. We have been looking at the different features of Wigan and the countryside.

That's all for this week! We hope you have a lovely weekend and will see you again on Monday!
