12th June

We have had a lovely week here in year 1. We still been busy learning and practicing our songs that we will be performing in July for Song Share.

English

In English we have read the book ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. We have enjoyed the theme of the story. in this book we have been looking at the character of Red Riding Hood and writing a character description. We have been looking at the nouns and adjectives we use in our descriptions.

Maths

In Maths this week we have been learning about fractions. We have looked at how we can break shapes and objects into half. Looking at how to be half they must be equal. We have moved onto finding have of a value, again focusing on how both must have equal amounts.

Science

In Science we have continued our new topic of ‘Animals Including Humans’. This week we have gone back through the 5 key groupings of different animals. We have looked at the groups amphibians and reptiles in more detail. Thinking about their key features such as them being cold blooded and laying eggs.

Topic

This week in our topic lesson we have looked at how the roles of the people who help us have changed over time. Discussed how things changing like technology and information has made changes happen. We looked at equipment used by doctors, firefighters and poice from th past and present before sorting it into the correct groupings.

Thank you everyone for supporting us this week. Have a wonderful weekend.
