What a busy last week of the half term!
Well done to us for getting the highest attendance in the school last week. We now get to show off our own styles and be comfy on the last day! Great work Reception F!
This week we read the story 'The Runaway Pancake'. We enjoyed tasting different fruits on our pancake. Mohamed's suggestion of 'pineapple' was quite a hit!
We also really enjoyed inviting our parents into the classroom to see what we have been ;earning about in Maths this year.
Every day, after lunch we have our Maths session. Mrs Rothwell teaches us as a whole group and then we take part in an activity in small groups to consolidate what we have learned.
We are very good now at 'flashy fingers', 'subitising' and recognising numbers to 10. We have also learned about corners, sides, edges and vertices in our shape lessons.
This week's Star of the Week is Marlie.
She has been trying so hard in class and it really is paying off for her. It is a joy to see how much progress she has made since September!
We hope you have a restful half-term. When we return, the mornings will be lighter, the days a bit drier (hopefully!) and lots more fun and learning to enjoy.
We will be learning about 'The Great Race' which is the story of Lunar New Year. We will find out which animal represents us and learn ordinal language. You can watch 'The Great Race' here
