17th January

Welcome back to our blog.

It's been another busy week in Year 1 this week with lots to learn and do.

English

In English we have been continuing working on our class story of 'The Enormous Turnip'. This week we have been planning and writing our own version of the story including enormous carrots, pumpkins, tomatoes and even sunflowers!

Maths

In Maths we have been working on place value and looking at ordering and comparing numbers to 20.

Science

In Science we have been learning about our 5 senses of smell, hearing, taste sight and touch.

Topic

Our Topic this week was comparing the countryside with our town of Wigan. We looked at human and physical features of both wigan and the countryside. We learnt that a human feature is something that is man made such as a building, whereas a physical feature is something that is naturally occurring such as a hill or river.

What a busy week!

That's all for this week, we will see you again next week.
