We have had a lovey week here in year 1.
English
In English we have been exploring a non-fiction text about tigers. Thinking how these texts are used to describe features. We have been thinking of nouns and adjectives to describe a tiger. We have created a story map of our text ready for innovation.
Maths
In Maths this week we have been working again on our place value. We have been using numbers on number lines and revisited our learning through the term.
Science
In Science we have been looking at our topic of ‘Materials’ by conducting an scientific investigation. We have explored how different materials react when exposed to water to evaluate which would be best suited to being made into an umbrella. We have concluded that the plastic was the best material to make an umbrella.
Topic
This week in our topic lesson has been focused around the History of our local area. We have looked at pictures through time of the area around school. We discussed how these were taken in the past or present before putting them onto a timeline.
