This week in Reception we have been focusing upon the changes occuring outside of our classroom windows and read the story 'Going on a Leaf Hunt'
The children were set a challenge by Mrs Rothwell to try and find the biggest leaf on the way to school. We had around 11 entries and Jacob was the winner! His leaf was all the colours of autumn and was ginormous!
We have also engaged in some autumn themed activities in the provision, including autumnal writing, reading and painting.
We have enjoyed learning different types of rolls in PE with Miss Denner. We were very good at pencil roll and egg roll!
We also had a lovely couple of mornings welcoming our grown ups into the classroom to show you what we do everyday! We hope you had a nice time.
In Read,Write Inc through the bucket, the children caught worms! We learned the sound 'w' and had a go at writing up the worm, down the worm, up the worm, down the worm.
This week's Star of the Week is Harper- she has tried so hard this week in all Literacy challenges and has been working hard at home aswell to remember the new sounds we have learned.
This week's dojo winner is Presley-Rae with a huge 13 dojos in one week!
Great work girls!
Next week we will be reading the story 'Leaf Man'
