Hope you had a lovely half term break!
English
This week we have introduced the Snail and the Whale story by Julia Donaldson. We have been writing a character description of the whale using adjectives.
We also wrote a list of ingredients for a magic potion!
Maths
We have continued to focus on addition within 10 and using part-whole models and tens frames to understand this.
Science
In science we are learning about the seasons. We found out that there are four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter. We went on an autumn walk of our school grounds to see what signs of autumn we could find. We saw sycamore seeds, autumn leaves, mushrooms and many leaves on the ground.
Topic
Our topic this half term is called Our Place and we learn about our local area. We have used aerial views and maps to look at our locality and found out that our school is very easy to spot on the map as it looks like a capital T! We used our map reading skills to find our school and Montrose Avenue.
