This week we have busy with our topic of ‘Everyday Heroes’ applying this in our History lessons. We have also continued learning and practicing our songs that we will be performing in July for Song Share.
English
In English we have continued our learning based on the book ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. We have been innovatinung this story by changing a character description of Little Red to one of the Wolf. We have been looking at the features of the wolf and describing them. Focusing our knowledge development on nouns and adjectives that we use in our descriptions.
Maths
In Maths this week we have been learning more about fractions. We have looked at how we can break shapes and objects into quarters. Looking at how to be a quarter they must be equal amounts in groups of 4. We have moved onto finding a quarter of a value.
Science
In Science we have continued our topic of ‘Animals Including Humans’. This week we have gone back through the 5 key groupings of different animals. We have looked at the group known as fish in more detail. Thinking about their key features such as them being cold blooded, laying eggs and living in water.
Topic
This week in our topic lesson it has been focused on the history of a significant individual. We have learnt about the life of Florence Nightingale. Discussed how she revolusionised the medical industry by creating rules to keep doctors, nurses and patients safe. We learnt how she gave patient beds, good food and made nurses wear uniforms.
Have a wonderful weekend.
