21st November

Our text of the week this week was 'What the Ladybird heard at the seaside'

We remembered lots of the animals that live in the ocean from our text 'Commotion in the Ocean' but loved listening to how these animals worked together to stop the crafty plan from Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh.

One activity we completed this week was creating a story map and getting to know the characters.  We used descriptive words such as 'sneaky', 'mean', 'friendly', 'helpful' and also 'short', 'fat' and 'tall'

We enjoyed seaside and ladybird themed activities in the provision

We even had our very own Lanky Len and Hefty Hugh who snipped the 'mermaid's hair' in our funky fingers activity!

We have been matching numeral to quantity in provision with Mrs Baggaley

The mobilo area of the classroom continues to be a huge hit with our children.  We have so many different, independent ideas surfacing- things that the grown ups would never think of making!

Well done to our mini master builders!

Master Builders!

This week's Star of The Week was Kobe for his amazing building skills and the dojo winner was Julia.

Well done!

Next week, we will be reading the story 'Down on the Farm' continuing our learning about animals and their habitat.

You can watch and listen here to get ahead of the game!

On the Farm by Axel Scheffler

In this week's episode of Storytime with Hannah (+ Patrick) we read aloud On the Farm, written and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, published by Pan Macmillan. Join us as we experience a very busy day on the farm, in this super interactive and imaginative tale, from the illustrator of The Gruffalo.

We hope you have a lovely weekend
