Thank you for attending the reading meeting this morning with Mrs Curtis. Please find a link below to the video and presentation shared today.
English
This week we have been describing the hot setting from the Snail and the Whale story. We named the things we could see in the setting, thought of adjectives, used our ideas to think of some 'and' sentences and then wrote about the hot setting.
Maths
In maths this week we have finished our work on addition and subtraction within 10. We looked at different representations of addition and subtraction and sorted them and we tried to read addition and subtraction number sentences and solve them.
Next we will be moving on to place value of numbers within 20. We need to be able to count forwards and backwards within 20 and read and write these numbers to be able to access our learning.
Science
In science this week we have learnt about how the length of the day changes across the seasons. We found out there are the most hours of daylight in the summer and the least hours of daylight in the winter.
Topic
We started our artwork for this half term this week by looking at the artist Kandinsky. We chose our favourites out of his paintings, learnt about hot and cold colours and we had a go at mixing primary colours to see what colours they made.
Computing
In computing this week we programmed an algorithm into the Beebot to go up and down the drainpipe like in the Incy Wincy Spider rhyme.
Have a lovely weekend.
