We have had a lovely week of learning here in year 1. We had another fabulous PE lesson where we have practiced our warming up, dance skills and cooling down. We have also thought about algorithms and programming by using BeeBots in computing. Giving them instructions to move around the mat to different features.
English
In English we have been using the text ‘The Town Mouse and The Country Mouse’. This week we have used an image of the story to create a setting description thinking about the nouns and adjectives.
Maths
In Maths this week we have been working on addition. We solved addition problems by counting on or adding using our number bonds. We have written these as number sentences and modelled them using concrete resources.
Topic
In topic this week we have investigating where our food comes from. We have used our knowledge of healthy and unhealthy food to design a sandwich. We have made and eaten these sandwiches ready to evaluate.
