5th December

This week we have continued to learn about animals and their habitats, reading the story 'Rumble in the Jungle'.

We learned about different animals who live in the jungles and on the savannahs around the world.

We had opportunities to practise our phonic knowledge and pencil control linked to the story.

We explored colours of animals by painting the patterns we can see on their bodies.

We created our own repeating patterns using the bobbins and laces

And we practised fred talk, read the word on the safari jeeps!

Our daily phonics sessions are really helping with the ability to write words and initial sounds.  Please continue to support your child at home with the QR codes we have sent and any homework that they bring home.  The programme is very fast paced to support your child in becoming a fluent reader before the end of KS1.  The pride they feel when they can put the pen on paper to communicate meaning is a joy to see!

Also.....we have been getting ready for Christmas!

The children helped to decorate our classroom tree on Monday and have been working hard to sing the Christmas songs the very best they can in preparation for our shows on Tuesday and Wednesday next week

This week's dojo winner was Theo

Our Star of the Week was Georgia, for working very hard in her phonics lessons!

Next week, we will be learning about Arctic Animals using information books to gather information.

Now that the weather is turning a little chilly, we can empathise with these beautiful creatures who live in icy and snowy conditions!

We hope you have a wonderful weekend.

See you all on Monday
