We have had a lovely week of learning here in year 1. We had a fabulous PE lesson where we have practiced our dance moves. Putting them into different sequences and at different speeds.
English
In English we have been using the text ‘The Town Mouse and The County Mouse. This time we have changed our setting of the town to the country by coming up with different nouns and adjectives.
Maths
In Maths this week we have been working on addition and subtraction in the form of number bonds and doubles. We also found near doubles with the help of using concrete resources.
Science
In Science we have explored our topic of ‘Animals including Humans’ further by investigating the diets of different animals. Looking at how animals can be herbivores, carnivores and herbivores.
Topic
In topic this week we have been looking again at our local area of Wigan as a town and comparing it to Keswick in the countryside. We have looked at how they have similarities such as roads, shops and houses. But they have big differences such as hills, lakes and mountains in the countryside.
