6th June

A fabulous beginning of our final term of Year 1 we have had. We have been very busy learning and practicing our songs that we will be performing in July for Song Share. And have loved starting our new terms topic of everyday heroes.

English

In English we have read the book ‘Oi Dog’. We have enjoyed the ryhming in this book and innovated it with our own animals and rhyming words. We then wrote our own version of the story.

Maths

In Maths this week we have been looking a time again. Thinking about the days of the week and months of the year along with reading the time on clocks. We have been reading and writing the o’clock times using an anologue clock along with drawing the correct hands on clack faces. We have also re-capped our learning of counting in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.

Science

In Science started a new topic of ‘Animals Including Humans’. This week we have learnt that there are 5 key groupings of different animals. We have looked at mammals and their key features and discussed how these can be wild animals or even our pets.

Topic

This week in our topic lesson we have looked at the key roles of the people who help up. Discussed why these roles are important and how some of these jobs have become more important over the years. We have thought about how these roles influence us and thought of possible jobs we could do in our future.

Thank you everyone for supporting us in our first week back of Summer 2.
