7th November

This week we have read the story 'Jacob O'Reilly Wants a Pet'

We thought about our own pets and pets that we would like to own.

We researched some of the pets from the story and wrote facts about them and what happens with them in the story

We also enjoyed learning about the origin of Bonfire Night.  We acted out the story in 'Helicopter Stories'.  Isla played a brilliant Guy Fawkes as we stacked the children as the fire and popped her on top!

We had lots of invitations to play in the provision to explore colour and colour mixing.

We have been practising our letter formation.  The children are getting very good at forming letters from their name and we have been writing the sounds we have learned in RWI.

This week's dojo winner was Penny

Our Star of the Week was Presley-Rae for always helping a friend in need.

Well done girls!

Next week we will be learning about a different set of animals- ones that live in the sea, through our text 'Commotion in the Ocean'.

You can watch the story here:

Commotion In The Ocean by Giles Andreae

A delightful collection of short poems about creatures that live under or near the ocean. The large brightly coloured illustrations by David Wojtowycz give added character and whimsy to the poems.

See you all on Monday!
