7th October

Onto our next Nursery Rhyme this week which was '1,2,3,4,5, Once I caught a fish alive'.

We used magnetised fishing rods to catch fish with different patterns on them.  We used words like 'spotty' 'stripey' 'zig zags' 'wavy' to describe the markings on the fish.

Following on from our scissor practice with a grown up last week, we had the change to use the scissors again to create 'Under the Sea' pictures

The adult led activity this week involved catching fish and counting how many we had caught.  Some children blew Mrs Rothwell's socks off as they did not even need to count if they had three fish- they just knew it was three!  We checked by counting and they were right!

We also used the interactive whiteboard's paint feature to practise recognising and writing numbers 1-5

Fun in the continuous provision

Very messy play!
