We have had a lovely week, focusing on the story Dear Zoo. The children took turns opening the crates to discover what was inside and enjoyed a range of activities based on the story. They explored a Dear Zoo-themed tuff tray, recited parts of the story as they played, and took part in a matching game where they were asked to find each animal and then locate its matching pair. The children also painted a giraffe and developed their fine motor skills by carefully placing Cheerios onto its spots.

We introduced the children to Bucket Time, an engaging activity that supports attention and listening while promoting speech through the use of single words.

We hid photographs of the children and staff in shredded paper and encouraged the children to find them. This activity supports their ability to recognise familiar people and helps them learn the names of their friends and the staff.

On Thursday morning, we went on our first walk around the local area. The children confidently explored their surroundings and collected some autumn leaves.
