Week beginning 22nd September
Parent/Carer notices-
This weeks star of the week, well done!!
Last week Buddy the bear went home with our first child. He had a fantastic weekend stay and was very well looked after. Thank you.
Buddy the bear has gone for another weekend with another friend. We hope you have a fantastic time!
The children have adapted well to nursery routines and are becoming independent learners. They are keen to try everything and show off how well they can do it. They can wash their own hands before meal times, and enjoy helping each other get tissues and lifting the bin. They can correctly identify their own belongings, for example, coats, packed lunches and their own bags at home time/nappy changing times. We have been using a traffic light system at meal times by using a green and red circle. These indicate when a snack is ready or not. Red is when a snack is being prepared and not quite ready, meaning the children have to wait for a short time. Once green appears on the table or is shown to the children, they know the snack is ready and they can wash their hands. We are super proud of how well they are all settling in and making relationships with their peers and staff.
This week we are continuing with the Dear Zoo book. The children are starting to remember which animal is next in the story, and they use sounds in play for each animal. On Wednesday, the children baked biscuits with Lauren, and had the choice to use a lion, elephant or giraffe cutter. The children were keen to express their preferences and loved the activity. They helped mix all the ingredients, we talked about each one as we poured it into the mixing bowl.
Dear zoo themed tuff tray!
We love to play and explore the outdoors. This helps us develop our physical skills. We use big and small movements whilst being outside, such as running, climbing, balancing, crawling, rolling, squatting and jumping. We enjoy taking the chalks outside to make marks. Traci and Ashley drew objects and shapes on the floor for the children to identify and use single words. Ashley drew a hopscotch and the children thoroughly enjoyed copying her actions of jumping and hopping into the boxes. The children especially loved playing hide and seek.

Wednesday 23rd September
Thursday 24th September
Today the children enjoyed a walk down to the retail park to explore the toy shop with Traci & Jayne and also with some of the preschool children & Vanessa. The children were a joy to have and were absolutely fantastic. They did excellent walking, and had good listening throughout the journey. They enjoyed looking for things to find on the way; dogs, birds, aeroplanes, bikes, cars, buses, emergency vehicles and more.
Friday 25th September
Today we had a dear zoo-themed tuff tray which included lettuce, potatoes, carrots, rice krispies, shreddies, broccoli & celery to help sensory development. The children loved playing and exploring all the different textures and used the animals in play.
