This week's star of the week, Well Done!!

This week we have had 2 new children join the Butterfly room. They have both settled fantastically and we are super proud of them both!

Being at nursery is tiring work!

We have created a new area in the butterfly room, which is the Curiosity Corner. This includes mostly natural toys and objects for children to explore. This encourages language skills and promotes imaginative play. We have also included some small pumpkins in one of the wooden crates to fit in with autumn. The children were keen to play and explore the objects.

This week we did some more baking, which the children really enjoyed getting involved in. They enjoyed counting the scoops of ingredients and mixing them altogether.

Over the course of the week we have been exploring autumn things in our play. This week we have been on an environmental walk to collect leaves so that the children can make pictures with them. We used different coloured paints to make our own hedgehogs and also did gluing and sticking fixing pictures and talked about the shapes on their pages. Next week we will look at making some autumn wreaths.

We love outdoor play! The children are so confident when exploring all the equipment outside. They love hearing all the different sounds from the environment when we go on our walks. This week, the children enjoyed working together holding the buckets to collect a variety of leaves for our collages.

We are still learning to be independent in nursery. The children love helping to move their own cups/plates at snack times and putting them in the sink. They are doing really well sitting for snacks, joining in with toothbrushing and hygiene routines.

Fun times at nursery!

On Thursday we had a group game with Jayne. They are small coloured boxes with an object inside to represent the letter. For example, A = apple, B = ball. The children thoroughly enjoyed finding what object was inside their box. They all sat really well and enjoyed looking at what their friends had in their boxes too.
