Our stars of the week this week. Well done superstars!!

Tuesday 13th October

Today we have enjoyed playing in the concrete area using our bikes and cars. This helps build physical skills and promote physical development. The children enjoyed the open space and enjoyed using different movements like running, jumping, hiding and peddling on the bikes. We also took some chalk out for the children to make marks. They enjoyed the staff drawing pictures so they could colour them in.

Wednesday 14th October

Today the children really enjoyed time in the home corner. They are starting to play alongside others and understand simple sentences. For example, can you find a spoon, can you find a baby etc.
They also really enjoyed the multicoloured shapes and mug trees for posting. This activity helps build hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills. The children showed great control whilst doing this.

Thursday 15th October

Today we enjoyed playing with the shredded paper. Inside we had hidden objects for the children to find. This activity is to help promote communication and language skills and to encourage single words. The children really enjoyed the building tools and foam bricks pretending to be builders. This helps develop their imagination skills.

Friday 16th October

Today we have really enjoyed playing in our middle room with the bubble machine and sensory toys, including musical instruments and ribbons for dancing! We have also enjoyed playing with the play dough and tools. A small group of children went to the pet shop today with Jayne and the preschool children. They enjoyed exploring all the different pet toys and looking at all the animals. They brought some leaflets back to nursery to show their friends.

Outdoor play – We have recently got some new climbing equipment outside which the children were very keen to explore. They showed great confidence when climbing and using the balancing frames.

Fun times at nursery!
