Welcome back to this week's class blog. What a fabulous week we have had using the text A New Home for a Pirate!
Let's start the week off by looking at some of the lovely invitations to play and learn we have explored this week
We extended this further by taking our patterns on a large scale on the classroom floor. We used pom poms and pincers to follow the patterns and explore different movements
Continuing our theme about pirates we ordered numbers on coins. This was great for talking about number order, which numbers are bigger, smaller than others. Here we are in action
We also explored matching numeral and quantity in the maths area. A great way of developing number recognition and helping our counting skills
We have been working super hard on our Funky Finger movements this week. We have explored so many different activities and games that help us with our co-ordination and pencil control.
We also had a great time using the dough for Dough Disco. We created different patterns and manipulated the dough in different ways to music. Here we are working hard in time to the music
PE this week also involved using our upper body strength to think about and explore different ways of moving. We looked at ways to move across the bench using our different body parts. Here we are in action
It was lovely to welcome so many of you to parents evening this week. It was a pleasure to share with you the effort the children have shown this half-term and just how well they have settled into the new routines and ways of working in Reception. Thank you for your continued support. It is much appreciated!
Next week we will be exploring one of our lovely enhancement weeks. We will be learning all about Autumn and the changes it brings. We have such an exciting week planned for the children
Have a wonderful weekend
