What a fantastic start to the new year!! The children have been so enthusiastic since coming back to school and settled in to Year 2 seamlessly! 

In English we have been collecting nouns and adjectives about Zog. The children have written their own description of Zog. They have remembered to include full stops, capital letters and adjectives! They have even tried to use different sentence openers! Well done Year2! 

In Maths we have been focusing on place value, knowing the value of each digit of a number. The children have been partitioning numbers into 10's and 1's.

In Science we have continued with our new topic of Animals Including Humans. The children have grouped animals into mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles. They have also looked at the basic needs of living things. 

In topic we have been learning about Wonderful Wigan. The children have learnt about Theodore Major, Junior Nsemba, Ella Toone, Richard Ashcroft and George Formby. See if the children can tell you any facts they have learnt about them!
